Musasa on the Telkom clash

The Absa Premiership might have come to an end, but football fans around the country will not be starve for action as clubs tackles each other in the last 16 of the Telkom Knockout.
One such match that is expected to keep spectators on their toes is between Mpumalanga Black Aces and SuperSport United at the Pumas Rugby Stadium on Sunday, March 14 as confirmed by the Premier Soccer League.

This will be the third time that the two sides face each other with Matsatsantsa A Pitori having won the two clashes, 5-0 and 3-0.

AmaZayoni captain, Felix Musasa said this time around is their turn to avenge those two defeats.

"We can’t allow SuperSport United to beat us three times in a row. We will fight them tooth and nail this time, we need to win this match to reward our management and our loyal fans," said Musasa.

Musasa said the fact that they have won a home ground advantage is an added motivation as they will be playing in front of their huge supporters.

"SuperSport United must not be fooled by their two league victories over us as this is going to be a different ball game with different approach," added Musasa.

Although this will be for the first time that Aces participate in knockout matches since their promotion to the elite league, they boost a good cup pedigree after having reached the final of the Nedbank Cup which they lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns, while they were still campaigning in the National First Division.

"It is for this reason that it won’t be a miracle for us to beat SuperSport United and go all the way to do well in the next stages of the Telkom Knockout. It will be wrong for people to judge us by our league performance, and we will prove them wrong by beating the league champions, SuperSport United", said the optimistic Musasa, who has been Aces’ engine in the defense department.

The rest of the Telkom Knockout last 16 fixtures are:
Saturday, March 13:
Golden Arrows v Platinum Stars (Charles Mopeli, 3pm),
