The Black Aces U15 Academy team, which plays in the SAFA Development League will be participating in the tournament for the second consecutive year, however they will have to qualify for the MUPC 2012 tournament proper, which will take place on 8th to 10th June at the Nike Centre in Soweto. The winner of this tournament will represent South Africa at the World Tournament in Shanghai, China in July 2012.
There will be 12 teams competing in the Playoffs in three different groups of A, B and C, with the winner of each group qualifying for the prestigious finals. At the draw, held on Wednesday 16th May at the Nike Centre in Soweto, Black Aces were paired in Group C with Moroka Swallows, SAFA Johannesburg and SAFA School of Excellence. Groups A and B include amongst others Platinum Stars, Supersports United, Pretoria University and Soweto Academy. Should Aces win their group they will join Orlando Pirates (2011 Winners), Bidvest Wits (2011 Finalist) , Mamelodi Sundowns, Cape Town Ajax, KZN Playoff Winners and Group A and B winners in the Final Eight.
The playoffs kick off at 09h00 on Saturday 19th May at the Nike Centre with Group A matches, followed by Group B at 10h00 while Black Aces kick off at 11h00 against Moroka Swallows. Their second match is at 14h00 against SAFA Johannesburg and their final match is on Sunday 20th May at 11h00 against SAFA School of Excellence.
