Mpumalanga Black Aces have appointed the experienced football administrator, Gordon Masondo, as their office and media liaison manager.
Masondo was born in Johannesburg on the 18th May 1972 but his roots are firmly entrenched in KZN with both his parents originally from that part of the country. When you talk to Masondo, his face immidiately lights-up with passion when he speaks about his love for the beautiful game of football.

His involvement with football began at amateur level when he was 23 years old - running soccer events in the East Rand and Soweto. He then became invoved with Katlehong City in 1998 as their general manager before moving to City Sharks.

The married father of four kids - 3 girls and 1 boy, has worked with a number of professional clubs during his career.

He was part of United FC when they gained promotion from the Vodacom to the National First Division as their general manager. Masondo says he actually joined Aces although not officially, when they were left with four games and was always confident that they will survive.

"I actually attended their last four games including their final match away to FC Cape Town," said Masondo smiling.

He says that he received two offers from PSL teams but he opted to join AmaZayoni after having a lengthy talk with the directors of the club. The talkative man says he wants to see Black Aces promoted back to the Premiership, where they belong.

"I thrive on challenges and I was very much impressed by the enthusiasm of the Aces directors," concluded the energetic Masondo.

Masondo’s former clubs:
Manning Rangers (Scout)
Tembisa Classic (Sout)
Maritzburg United (Scout)
Nathi Lions (Acting Director)
City Pillars (Team manager)
Wits University (Assistant Marketing Manager)
Durban Bush Bucks (General Manager)
Batau FC (General Manager)
Dynamos (Team Manager)
